Signature Talk
Lead Yourself First:
Unlocking the Inner Keys to Outward Impact
We think of leadership as an outward action. But is it really?
Everything you do as a leader emanates from the center: you. The way you lead yourself then ripples outward, impacting how you lead others.
Centered Impact Model of Leadership
This model is one of my core coaching frameworks. Leadership isn’t a checklist of skills; it’s an ever-expanding circle of influence that starts by looking inward.
In this signature talk, I focus on three keys to leading the self that are valuable for both new and seasoned leaders.
Attendees will gain a fresh perspective on self-leadership and take a deeper look at who they want to be as a leader. They will come away with strategies they can put into practice immediately to apply these principles in their current leadership role.

As a Certified Professional Coactive Coach (CPCC) and Certified Positive Intelligence Coach (CPQC), I am passionate about helping others lead with intention and deepen their impact.
Because I work with leaders on a daily basis, I know just how challenging it is for them right now.
Today’s leaders are feeling burnt out, overwhelmed, and underqualified. What they need isn’t pressure to do more…but the inspiration to fully realize who they want to be as a leader.
Rather than lecture, I come to events and conferences with a coach approach, using a question-based style to help leaders find the potential within themselves.
Podcasts
Do you have an audience of people managers or executives? We might be a great fit!
As a podcast guest, I love talking about a coach-approach to leadership and intentional leadership that begins with leading yourself. Some of my faves include:
- The Leadership Crisis: How companies provide very little internal training and support, leaving new leaders to figure out everything on their own. And what we can do about it!
- Coach-Like Leadership: What it means to take a coach-approach to leadership and how it differs from the command and control style many of us were taught.
- The Foundation of Leadership: How self-leadership creates the crucial foundation for leading others or leading teams.
Event Workshops
Most event workshops are boring and one-sided, leaving participants with a page full of notes they’ll never look at again.
Instead of lecturing or presenting, I create interactive learning experiences that stick, connecting what I teach to real and relevant problems that truly matter to leaders.
- Common workshop topics include:
- Coaching Skills for Leaders
- The Art of Delegation
- Leading from your Values
- Navigating Conflict
- Release Control to Unleash Results
- Be an Influential Change Agent
- Elevate your Inner Dialogue
I provide both online and in-person workshops for conferences or corporate events. Workshops are customized to fit your event theme and audience.
About Wendy
McManus
I am a leadership coach best known for my signature program, Thriving Leaders Circle. In addition to coaching and hosting workshops, I publish the weekly Fresh Perspective newsletter and contribute to The Produce News on a regular basis.
With a background in produce marketing, I’ve spoken at events including the Four Seasons Produce Fresh Fest and the Women’s Fresh Perspectives Conference. I am now moving beyond produce events, expanding to conferences, association events, and corporate meetings across industries.
I believe that leadership is a skill anyone can develop with guidance and support. Rather than teach or instruct, I seek to inspire and challenge…giving attendees the tools to create their own path rather than follow one that’s set for them.
My passion is to help both new and seasoned leaders connect with their hidden potential, discover the limiting beliefs that are holding them back, and learn how to lead with intention and confidence. And it starts not by looking outward, but by leading from the inside out.
