A Leadership Development Program for Women in Produce

If you’ve spoken to me for more than 10 minutes, you probably already know that I’m passionate about the produce industry. Going to work for the National Watermelon Promotion Board in 2001 and later for the National Mango Board changed my life for the better in more ways than I can count. I found this industry to be overflowing with dynamic, generous, smart, caring people. I knew right away that I wanted to build my career here. And so, I have.

Over the years, I’ve appreciated the sharp uptick in the number of women working in produce. It makes me think about the role of women and how they can lean into their potential. What do they need to further their careers and become more powerful contributors to their produce-focused organizations?

That’s why I’ve created a brand new leadership development program. It may be a fit for you if:

  • You are a woman working in produce
  • You are mid-career, managing people, projects or a portfolio of business
  • You are passionate about the industry
  • You are a strong contributor to your organization and want to be even stronger
  • You want to lean into your personal growth edges rather than settling for the status quo

Through our work together, you will gain a practical understanding of the VAE model of leadership, which you can apply immediately in your workplace, regardless of your role.  The model identifies three critical components of effective leadership. They are 1) Crafting a VISION, 2) Building ALIGNMENT and 3) Championing EXECUTION. I’ve found this model to be transformative in how I approach leadership and I’m eager to share it with you.

In addition, you can expect to gain:

  • Deeper knowledge of self
  • Greater personal leadership prowess
  • Improved ability to connect and communicate
  • Increased capability to navigate difficult situations
  • Deeper commitment to accountability
  • Enhanced capacity to lead, even if you’re not in a formal leadership role

The program will combine group leadership sessions with one-on-one coaching to help you fully integrate the learning. Our agenda includes:

  • 5 group calls via video conference, scheduled every other week for 60 to 90 minutes
  • 3 one-on-one coaching calls via phone or video conference, scheduled to suit each participant
  • Email support throughout the program
  • Peer interaction via private Facebook group or online forum if the participants want this

I’m committed to creating a dynamic environment where the needs of the group will help to fine-tune the content. As a participant, your feedback will be essential to shaping the program and helping me grow as a coach and facilitator. My goal is that together we will lean into our growth edges, and lean into each other.

The program is slated to begin soon and will be capped at eight participants to ensure easy interaction during our group sessions.
